The East Lancashire Hospitals Trust made a commitment during its consultation with the public and stakeholders in 2006 to provide free transport services between the Royal Blackburn Hospital (RBH) and Burnley General Hospital (BGH) for staff, patients and visitors.
Free transport services between the Royal Blackburn Hospital (RBH), Burnley General Hospital (BGH) and Pendle Community Hospital (PCH) for staff, patients and visitors.
Since May 2007 there has been a bus, running daily, between Burnley and Blackburn hospitals. This service is free to patients, visitors and all East Lancashire NHS health economy staff. The service will be monitored regularly and will continue to be provided whilst demand requires.
The shuttle buses pick up and drop off 7 days per week:

twice a day, from RBH to BGH, via Pendle Community Hospital (PCH), just past the bus stop on Leeds Rd.
Transport to Pendle Community Hospital, outside of the times indicated on the timetable, is available through the BGH Park & Ride facility, pick-up point is at BGH main reception, between the hours of 07:30 and 18.30 which must be pre-booked (contact transport office Mon – Fri between 09:00 and 17:00 for further details tel. 01254 736549 / 01282 474567).
The shuttle bus will drive into the JJB car park in Blackburn each morning, until 09:20, to pick up staff holding permits to park on this site.
