Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care Trust have developed a Joint Learning Disabilities Commissioning Strategy (Plan).
We consulted with a number of different people in putting together the strategy, including people with a learning disability and their parents/carers.
The strategy is about improving the health and lives of adults with a learning disability in Blackburn with Darwen. It is also about how we can get better support for the carers and families of people with a learning disability.
The strategy states the changes we want to make locally in Blackburn with Darwen, over the next three years, between 2008 and 2011.
It states how much money health and social services spend on services for people with a learning disability in Blackburn with Darwen.
The strategy also describes the type of services we have now as well as where we want to be in the future and it lists the action we need to do to achieve this.
