Film premiere raises awareness of young mental health issues

Children’s Services and Health professionals are being invited to attend the premiere of a DVD/film designed to raise awareness of mental and emotional health issues for 11-15 year olds.

‘Public Minds’will premiere at Darwen Academy on March 30, 7.30pm-9pm. It is part of a resource around wellbeing issues for youngsters being produced by YoungMinds mental health charity, in association with NHS Blackburn with Darwen and NHS Teen Life Check.

The initiative is being delivered by the young people of Blackburn with Darwen, coordinated by YoungMinds, who have planned and developed the project.

A range of people whose work impacts children, young people and family emotional health and wellbeing, in particular mental health, have taken part by giving a short filmed interview on why raising awareness around mental and emotional health issues is important.

Filming is currently taking place. Interviews will be cut together to produce the DVD/film which will be used across Blackburn with Darwen and nationwide.

If you would like to attend the premiere contact Rosie Turner at rosie.turner@youngminds.org.uk
