Bank Holiday Health Information
NHS Blackburn with Darwen is stressing the need to plan your medical care well in advance of the upcoming bank holiday.
GP surgeries and dental practices will be closed on Monday August 29.
People are being advised to book routine doctors’ appointments and make provisions for collecting medicines and repeat prescriptions well in advance.
Over the bank holiday weekend itself there will be several healthcare options available.
Self-care pharmacy services can be asked for advice for cases such as coughs, colds, sore throats and other minor illnesses.
NHS Direct - which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on 0845 46 47 - or the out of hours GP service (0845 22 62 626) which covers Blackburn with Darwen GP services overnight, weekends and Bank Holidays will also be available.
