A workshop to highlight the risks of strokes and TIA is being held at King George’s Hall.
The event on Friday, October 28 is to help celebrate World Stroke Day and the World 1 in 6 campaign.
The campaign highlights that 1 in 6 people worldwide will have a stroke in their lifetime and that every six seconds, regardless of age or gender, someone somewhere will die from a stroke.
For those who attend the workshop, it is hoped that they will take what they have learnt and share it with their communities.
Blackburn with Darwen’s Healthy Communities Partnership and the Lancashire and Cumbria Cardiac and Stroke Network are looking for 160 people to attend the workshop.
The day will feature interactive and informative presentations and workshops from a range of professionals.
Advice will be given on lifestyles changes that can reduce the risk of a stroke, signs to look out for and how to mange life after a stroke.
The workshop will run from 9am-12.30pm and includes lunch.
Numbers are limited so to confirm your place before Friday, October 14, please call Tina or Caroline on:
