Thanks to a new translation tool being introduced to NHS Choices, information on NHS services, public health issues and wellbeing advice is now available in multiple languages.
The new NHS Choices auto-translation uses Google Translate and translates the site into a number of languages, from Afrikaans to Yiddish, at the touch of a button.
The move follows feedback from users and health professionals.
It means health practitioners working with some of the hardest to reach communities now have a completely free tool to use with patients when advising them on accessing NHS services or giving them advice on treatment or ill-health prevention. All information on NHS Choices is evidence-based.
To support the translation tool, a Languages hub has also been introduced, with content and links to external websites. These are local and international websites with existing multi-language health content.
