Twenty Blackburn with Darwen patients have benefited from a new county-wide service to treat heart attacks.
The primary percutaneous coronary intervention service (PPCI) was launched at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in Blackpool in June this year.
A new quarterly bulletin gives details of the numbers treated and shows how quickly the service got help to patients.
Lancaster man John Stevenson, who was the first person in the county to be treated at the centre said the speed of the service was like a military operation and described it as ‘outstanding’.
