Research opportunities

NHS Lancashire are asking for people to help identify research projects that could benefit from support, funding and training.

The organisation is requesting that practitioners complete an online survey aimed at helping people to become involved in research.

The survey will enable them to gather knowledge on research interests, experience and capacity.

Following its completion practices who have expressed an interest in becoming involved in research will be contacted.

Dr J Gardner, Medical Director at NHS Lancashire, said: “There are increasing opportunities for Primary Care Practitioners to become actively involved in research.

Across Lancashire we have been continuing to increase research activity and we are pleased to see extensive references to research within the 2010 White Paper.

“It has also been written within the Department of Health’s “Developing Commissioning Groups: Towards authorisation guidance” that to achieve the best outcomes for patients, CCGs will need to recognise the vital roles innovation and the promotion and support of research have to play”.

To complete the survey visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/RK8WWY9

After taking part in the survey participants will be given the opportunity to complete an additional survey which is specifically linked to Mental Health research.
