The GP Senate and Board will soon be using a new computerised system to help make their discussions easier.
Huddle is a collaborative web accessed space, which the GP Senate and Board will be using to carry on discussions arising from their GP Senate meetings.
The system is currently used by a number of NHS organisations around the UK.
For example, South West NHS use it for leadership training and collaboration and the Scottish Patient Safety Paediatric Programme incorporate it in training sessions that have to be delivered to all members without them all having to travel 100's of miles to attend.
Whilst patient information cannot be discussed using the system, it is anticipated that Huddle will facilitate the communication flow between the 30 or so people, all of whom are based in busy practices and who struggle to find similar times in their diary to meet.
Currently, members of the Senate are reporting issues with information overload as email is being used to discuss items leading to the generation of hundreds of emails for the members to wade through.
By using Huddle, it is anticipated this will be massively reduced. Invitations are expected to be sent out this week to GPs inviting them to take a look at the new system and try it out for themselves. This will be followed by a training session for those who would like some pointers.
