The future of commissioning
The first meetings have already taken place to start planning the way forward for GP commissioning in Blackburn with Darwen under the government's White Paper reforms. GPs from a number of practices across the borough met in July to discuss options including a Blackburn with Darwen GP consortia and a broader consortia across East Lancashire, with Care Trust Plus or independent companies to provide supporting services.

Financial communications
The Care Trust Plus has to make £8.9m savings in 2010/11, with further savings needed to 2013/14 due to the estimated £15 to £20bn shortfall in NHS budgets nationally.
White Paper
A new section has been created on the Care Trust Plus website to feature all the latest news, information and consultations on the NHS White Paper.
Single Chief Executive appointed
The creation of a single integrated management team (SIMT) for the Care Trust Plus and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has begun with the appointment of Graham Burgess as the joint Chief Executive.
LSCB development opportunities
The LSCB Learning and Development 2010/11 programme offers workforce development opportunities relating to safeguarding, protecting and proportioning the welfare of children and young people.
