Message from Dr Chris Clayton
As you may know I recently attended the meeting of NHS Chief Executives held in London. Andrew Lansley, Sir David Nicholson, David Flory and David Cameron were all there and a few key messages came across loud and clear.
New number let's you call NHS
NHS 111 is a brand new non-emergency number for local health services, which has launched in Blackburn with Darwen as part of a Lancashire-wide pilot scheme.
Policies of Limited Clinical Value
Following the request from GP's, there is now a separate section specifically for policies of limited clinical value.
Confidentiality – it's in your hands
A reminder has been issued on the importance of information governance following a reported incident.
Adult Social Care Information at the click of a button
Patients needing information on adult social care services can find all the advice they need at the Your Support Your Choice website.
Training for Primary Care Research in Cumbria and Lancashire
Everyone involved in the conduct of clinical research must have training to ensure they are best prepared to carry out their duties according to the Research Governance Framework.
Encouraging start to flu jab seasons
Thanks to GPs Blackburn with Darwen has had an encouraging start to the flu jab season.
Dementia stakeholder letter
Dr Jim Gardner, the Medical Director and PCT Cluster Dementia Executive Lead has issued an update for stakeholders.
