The team is responsible for communicating all Blackburn with Darwen Teaching Care Trust Plus news and activity to the media. We are also responsible for providing an informed and prompt reaction to all media enquiries in order to avoid incorrect information being printed, thus safeguarding our staff and patients interests. We also endeavor to engage effectively with our community, making patients and non-patients fully aware and informed of the services the Trust Plus offers.
Internal:
We will effectively communicate all internal news to our staff through the appropriate mediums. Distribution of internal newsletters to the relevant departments is co-coordinated by the Communications Team. Any information required to be communicated to either the media or to other staff members is checked by our department prior to release, to ensure the information is correct and has met with the expected standards.
To respond in a positive and professional manner to all media and internal enquiries.
To respond quickly to all media requests for comment or information
To ensure that we identify a trained professional to respond to enquiries of a medical nature
To encourage all Trust Plus staff to co-operate with media requests when and where appropriate. To communicate effectively with all staff regarding any forth-coming publicity that may have either a positive or negative effect.
To maintain and develop a positive working relationship with all key members of the media in the Blackburn and Darwen locality.
To implement a channel of communication that it easily accessible to staff and members of the public in order to engage NHS Blackburn with Darwen Teaching Care Trust Plus with the local area more effectively.
