Kathryn started her career as a Nurse after training at the Coventry and Warwick school of Nursing in 1989.
She then worked as a staff nurse in a number of different specialities including general surger, urology and theatres. Kathryn continued to work as a nurse whilst studying for a degree in psychology with sociology at Staffordshire University.
Kathryn then went on to study for an MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Bath. During this time, she worked at the Royal United Hospital in Bath as a Health Psychologist.
Kathryn continued to study and gained chartered status as a Health Psychologist. Kathryn moved from Bath to Oxford to work at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital in Oxford. During this time Kathryn was part of a team working with the National Clinical Governance Development Team.
She joined the PCT in Blackburn in 2001 to work on the clinical governance agenda with both community staff and independent contractors before becoming locality manager for West Neighbourhood working with District Nurses, Health Visitors and local SureStarts. Kathryn then worked as the Associate Director of Governance with the Provider Services Unit before commencing work with the Commissioning Care Trust Plus where she is enjoying working with an integrated team which includes staff from both the local authority and health service.
Outside of work Kathryn enjoys supporting Stoke City and spending time with her young family.
