Did I have to previously be a patient at Montague to use the new Health Centre?
No, the new building will provide additional services which will benefit all people from Blackburn with Darwen.
If I were a patient at Montague Health Centre, do I need to re-register?
No, all GP practices currently based in Montague have relocated to the new building, automatically taking their existing patients with them.
Where is the new Health Centre located?
The building is located just off Barbara Castle Way between the Capita building and the new Blackburn College building. The approach to the main entrance will be from Simmons Street. It is less than a third of a mile from where Montague Health Centre was located.
Why was this site chosen?
The site was chosen as NHS Blackburn with Darwen wanted a central location, to ensure that health services were accessible to all. The central location will allow visitors to combine their trips with shopping and leisure activities, and is conveniently located close to bus routes.
How will I get to the new Health Centre?

By Bus - The central location means it is easily accessed via bus routes. There will be a new bus stop located on Alma Street, and some bus routes will be amended to include this stop.

By Bike/ On Foot - There will be secure bike stores for those who wish to cycle.

By Car/ Taxi - there is a drop off zone for taxis and minibuses, as well as a 61 space patient only car park. The car park has direct access into the building via lifts and stairs.
